Greater Boston Urology Reflects on 2025

Before the start of the new year, we like to take a step back and reflect on the last 12 months at Greater Boston Urology. Here are some of the highlights.

We welcomed Stacy Giles as our new Chief Operating Officer

In August, we welcomed Stacy Giles, a seasoned leader with over 25 years of experience in healthcare administration and oncology, as our new Chief Operating Officer. She assumed the role from Les Cavicchi, MPA, NHA, who retired after helping ensure the growth and success of Greater Boston Urology for the last 12 years. Before joining our team, she served as Executive Director of Oncology Services at TidalHealth, overseeing inpatient and outpatient cancer programs across Maryland and Delaware. We hired three new doctors and physician assistants

At the start of 2025, Dr. Ronald Ebb joined our Hyannis care center. In addition to this role, he serves as an instructor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and is a retired Major in the United States Army Reserve Medical Corps. Since 2005, he has had a urology practice in Leominster, Mass. Learn more about Dr. Ebb here

Dr. Mitchell H. Bamberger joined the team at our Leominster care center at the beginning of the year as well. As a skilled urologist with over forty years of experience, he’s investigated and researched treatments for various urologic conditions and has held numerous academic appointments over the decades, including Harvard Medical School. He currently teaches at UMass Medical School in Worcester. Learn more about Dr. Bamberger here.

Dr. Alex Miller is one of our newest hires, joining the team this past fall as our second full-time interventional radiologist. Prior to his role at GBU, he worked on the IR team at Mass General Brigham, where he provided comprehensive IR care at the hospital’s sites; led outreach to referrers to increase accessibility; lectured other IR fellows; and led tech and nurse education initiatives at Salem Hospital. Learn more about Dr. Miller here.

Jennifer Sweetman, PA-C, joined our team earlier this year and sees patients in our Attleboro Care Center. Jennifer earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies and Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Duquesne University (Honors College) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Learn more about Jennifer here.

Bradley Hunt, PA-C, joined the team at the GBU’s Attleboro care center earlier this year as well. He earned his Master of Health Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Quinnipiac University and his Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Science from the University of Connecticut. Learn more about Bradley here.

Patrick Shaw, PA-C, is our most recent hire, joining the team this past September. He earned his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of St. Joseph and his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Massachusetts Boston, Boston Honors College. Learn more about Patrick here.

We opened three new care centers, including a second interventional radiology center

At the beginning of 2025, the doors to two new Care Centers were opened. Our Attleboro and Leominster locations expanded access to urology care in Massachusetts. Those are located at 70 Emory Street in Attleboro and 50 Memorial Drive, Suite 108, in Leominster.

We also reopened our second IR center at 161 Worcester Road, Suite #300, in Framingham, which is in the same building as our Framingham Care Center.

Eligible patients can receive interventional radiology (IR) treatments (such as prostate artery embolization, or PAE) at this location, as well as at our Plymouth IR center. IR is minimally invasive, doesn't require anesthesia, and recovery times are a lot quicker. Read more about interventional radiology in this article.

We had a great time at the ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk

This was our 11th year as the local presenting sponsor of the ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk. We’re grateful to all who turned out and helped raise money for this important cause.

Coming up in 2026…

At GBU, we’re always looking for ways to improve our patients' lives. In the coming months, we look forward to sharing news about new programs, staff, and locations. Keep an eye out for those updates!
