Biography

Dr. Mark V. Silva earned his medical degree from the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York. He completed a general surgery internship and urology residency at Columbia University Medical Center/New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. He continued his training with a fellowship in Endourology at Chesapeake Urology in Baltimore, Maryland, with Drs. Julio G. Davalos and Joel E. Abbott.

Additional research experience included stints as a research assistant for Dr. Rahuldev Bhalla at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University and for Dr. Michael Shen, Ph.D., in the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center at Columbia University Medical Center/NYP Hospital. He is widely published in various journals and textbooks, including Cell, Urology, Journal of Endourology, Clinical Transplantation, and Smith's Textbook Of Endourology.

Prior to joining GBU, Dr. Silva served as Director of Endourology and Assistant Clinical Professor of Urology at NYU Langone in Brooklyn.

Dr. Silva is a full-time urologist in our Plymouth Care Center. Outside the office, he enjoys running, skiing, and being a husband and a dad to two wonderful girls.
