TAUNTON_ On December 1st, Greater Boston Urology (GBU) physician Dr. Natalya Lopushnyan will host a free seminar for diabetic men on the subject of erectile dysfunction (ED). The event will be held at 6pm in the Taunton Public Library Meeting Room. Spouses and partners are also welcome to attend.

According to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIH), men who suffer from diabetes are two to three times more likely to develop ED when compared to men who don’t have diabetes. Diabetes causes damage to the body’s nerves and blood vessels which can cause sexual problems in those who have the condition. ED experienced before the age of 45 may also be an early warning sign of diabetes.

“Men who experience erectile dysfunction may be hesitant to share the symptoms they are experiencing with their health care provider. We want to open the lines of communication and help those who suffer from diabetes and ED, manage and treat their symptoms to regain a better quality-of-life,” said Lopushnyan.

Throughout her career practicing general urology, Dr. Lopushnyan, along with Greater Boston Urology, has been committed to raising awareness of urological health issues. The urology practice, which was founded in 2010 to unite the most talented urology physicians and specialists in Massachusetts, offers free educational resources to the community to ensure individuals have access to valuable medical advice.

The event will share information about the wide variety of treatment options available to individuals experiencing ED. Those who wish to attend the event should register by calling 1-877-433-2873. Light refreshments will be served.
